New Class Starting in March!

My first online class started in January, and it has been fun to help people learn to eat healthier, one little step at a time.
If you have already fallen off your New Year Resolutions bandwagon, or found it too difficult to follow some extreme weight loss or health plan, why not join me for 12 weeks of encouragement and practical ideas to help you keep making progress and moving toward your healthy eating goals for your family?
You can read all about the class here. I limit the number of students in the class so that I have enough time to devote to individual coaching, so don’t wait too long. The class is already filling up!
Something Yummy Just Showed Up: Matisse and Jack Baking Mixes!

I’m a firm believer that people who are trying to eat healthier need some goodies and snacks on their repertoire. For most people it’s just too extreme….and sad!….to have no options for desserts or sweets at all. I have some great recipes (that will be coming out in a new book soon!) for healthy treats, but I am also always on the lookout for stuff that makes healthier eating even easier.

Matisse and Jack mixes feature whole grains, ALA-Omega 3’s, flaxseeds, and other good-for-you ingredients. Plus, they are super easy to make. It literally takes about 2 minutes to whip up a batch of these Cocoa Squares or Cranberry Power Bars, and they’re done baking in less than a half hour.
One thing I love about the Cranberry Power Bars is that this offers all of you power bar lovers a product that is so much healthier (and cheaper!) than buying power bars in the store. Most “power bars” on the market are just full of junk, junk, and more junk. This mix allows you to have your high-protein power bar snack without all the junk.
Both mixes passed the taste testing of my children, husband, and visiting friends. (People never know what I’m going to make them try when they come over here! I’m glad they are all good sports about it.) You can check out these new mixes here. If you guys like ‘em, I’ll get some more of their mixes in stock.
Each product page features many variations on the basic baking directions so that you can whip up an even greater variety of goodies with these mixes. Lots of possibilities!
Thoughts on Shipping Issues
I’ve always noticed customer service issues, but now that I run my own businesses I’m hyper-aware of what companies do and don’t do for their customers.
Just yesterday I was getting a package ready to ship. It was an item that my husband had ordered and had decided to return. This company had taken his order and then not sent him the item for about two months, without any communication as to what the delay was. (He called and found out they were out of stock, but nobody had taken the time or initiative to let him know that.) Then, when I was making a copy of the receipt for our records (before including a copy in the box that was being returned) I noticed that he had been charged $19.95 for shipping. And HOW was this money used? Apparently to line the pockets of the company that he ordered from. Because the box weighed one pound, and was sent by parcel post. This is the cheapest and slowest shipping option available for this type of package, and would have cost less than $3.
They could have sent it by priority mail for less than $5. And they probably could have even sent it *overnight* for the $19.95 shipping price.
And did I mention that the item he had purchased was a $200 item? Seems like they should have cared about his business a little bit more, eh?
This sort of thing is just so disappointing to me as a customer, but it also reminds me of one more way that Supermom’s Health and Wellness is different from others.
We charge a flat rate of $6.95 per order, no matter how much you buy. Here’s how that translates:
Even if I find that I *could* ship your order slower and super cheap, I ALWAYS send it to you via Priority Mail so that you get it in 2-3 days.
Even if I *could* stick your products into a flat rate envelope and only pay $4.60 to ship it, if the items that are being shipped would be safer in a box, I’m going to ship it to you in a box, even if that means that it costs $2 more. You paid for good shipping and you’re going to get it.
IF your order is heavy or has to go all the way to California, Alaska, or Hawaii, it is probably going to cost me more than $6.95 to ship. But I will pay whatever the extra cost is to get your package to you.
If you live in Canada or anywhere else outside of the USA, you’re going to have to pay for the international shipping. But I will do my best to find a good shipping rate for your products, and whatever that price is will have the $6.95 that you already paid deducted from it.
PLUS, I almost always get orders out on the same day, and with very few exceptions get them out by the very next business day. I like to get my purchases fast, and I know you do too. As this business grows, one of my goals will be to continue to get orders out Super Fast! I appreciate your order and want to get it to you as soon as I can.
If for some unusual reason I am unable to ship your products Super Fast (like happened in January when I introduced Bee Strong, Berry Well, and Bone Ami and kept selling out of it faster than it was coming in) I will let you know and communicate with you regularly to let you know the status of your order. I’m kind of a fanatic about wanting to get your orders on their way to you as soon as possible!
I know that there are a zillion businesses out there that don’t seem like they care whether you come around buying things or not. I just wanted to let you know that I see the good, bad, and the ugly, and I try to set this business apart as one that shows customers that we care about them as friends.
Have a great day,
Supermom

Not to bore you to death, but…here’s another testimonial about my books!
Although there were some things I wasn’t aware of, for the most part these principles have been familiar to me for a long time but were put together in a very easy to read style. You were also to able to point out the very important nugget that making small changes can really make a difference.
Although I love fruits and salads, I have irritable bowel syndrome and these foods can be very difficult for me to tolerate. I tried a couple of the recipes and decided to start making salads for everyone else even if I couldn’t eat it myself. I started eating small amounts of the beautiful salads I was making and now am able to eat salad several times a week.
For the sake of others in my home I started making a fruit bowl as well and started with small amounts. I am now able to eat fruit almost every day. It’s ready in the fridge in a clear bowl so you can’t miss it!
I also joined a local food coop that has organic foods and was pleased to find some great yogurt cheaper than in the grocery store and with a plastic seal instead of foil. I have recently done some reading that suggests a connection between aluminum and dementia so I have been trying to look for products that don’t have aluminum and found that most yogurt does. So, I was doubly pleased to find this yogurt.
My husband and I used to have a bowl of ice cream most evenings. Well, now I bring him a bowl of fruit or some yogurt or popcorn that I’ve made with olive oil and a small amount of butter. I went to the doctor today and found that since I saw her 2 months ago I have lost 10 pounds. As you pointed out in your books, it CAN be painless to lose weight. Thanks Super Mom for the inspiration to make small changes!
