My Kids Love Their New Vitamins!

A big part of the way that I decide what to offer at Supermom’s Health and Wellness is to find products that my family and I really love, and then pass the information on to you.  When I have a need for a particular product I start searching until I find something that has the safe ingredients, quality, performance, and price that I’m looking for.  I figure if I’m thrilled with my discovery, probably other people will be too.  :)

Well, I am SO excited about our new liquid Super Kids vitamins.  We started using this product several weeks ago, and my children are so happy about taking these that they remind me all the time to make sure they got their vitamins.  (They also take Bone Ami, a liquid calcium-magnesium supplement and they love that too.)

I keep thinking that I need to make a video of my little boys doing their happy dance as they wait for me to fill up their teaspoons with their vitamins, and watch them lick them clean.  :)   They are so cute!

We started out with the orange Super Kids.  Next time we’ll give the berry flavor a try.  My kids love the taste, just taking it straight, but you could definitely mix this into juice, yogurt, or applesauce if you wanted to.
In the past I have purchased vitamins for my children, but it always seemed like the cheap ones were complete junk— just full of chemicals, sugar, aspartame, and other garbage.  And the “good” ones usually weren’t that much better, but if they were, they cost a fortune!  I have six children, so we go through some vitamins here, if we’re using them.  I had to find something better.

Super Kids meets my criteria for many reasons.  The ingredients are excellent.  Not only does it have the vitamins and minerals that I want in a vitamin, but it has a lot of excellent “bonus” ingredients like Aloe Vera Juice, Colloidal Minerals, Kelp, and more.  The sweetener is Xylitol, which is actually good for their teeth!  No sugar or fructose or any other garbage.  Yay!

I also like Super Kids because the liquid is easily absorbed into the body, so we are getting the best bang for our buck that way.

One bottle has 93 servings in it, so that’s going to go a pretty long way even for my family.  With the price being just $18 per bottle, it’s affordable for us too.

I just love it when I find stuff that’s a fit like this!

How to Use Our Baby Slings

I am SO pleased to finally be able to offer my VERY FAVORITE baby accessory to my baby boutique customers: Slings!

Honestly, after mothering my six children, I can tell you that if I could only choose one item to help me with my babies, it would definitely be a sling. They are wonderful for

going for walks,

for keeping strangers from pawing at your baby at the grocery store,

for helping your baby sleep while you go through stores (and not having bright lights shining in their eyes),

for nursing discreetly,

for all the times you go places where strollers are inconvenient (the zoo, museums, etc.), and more!

Here are directions for how to use our slings. There are many ways to use them!

Natural Help for Burns

Burns happen so easily around the house. Whether you’re cooking or baking, or have something hot spilled on you or a child, I want to share with you the very best solution to burns that I have ever used.

ALOE is a wonderful plant for burns. You can get one at Walmart or anyplace that sells basic house plants. Just set it on a windowsill and know it’s handy for when you need it.

When a burn happens, immediately go cut a piece off of one of the leaves (which are like spiny spikes). You will notice that inside the leaf is aloe gel. Just apply it generously to the burn area. It doesn’t smell very good, but it works GREAT! Reapply as needed.

Often when I have had a burn that I thought would be very painful, later on (within a couple hours) I can’t even tell where the burn was!

I have never seen any cream or ointment for sale that can rival the work that straight, pure aloe can do. Try it!

Tip to Combat Constipation in Babies and Children

Four years ago when my sixth child was a newborn, a massage therapist friend shared this wonderful technique with me. This simple “nerve stroke” requires no pushing, pressure, kneading, or force of any type. It’s just a gentle touch that has powerful results!

Look at your child’s belly button and think of it as the center of a clock. All you have to do is a gentle circular stroke around the belly button area going clockwise to help a child’s digestive system get moving so that they aren’t constipated any more, and counter-clockwise to help slow down diarrhea.

I have shared this tip with many mothers over the past 4 years and have always received good feedback about how well it worked for them, so I hope you have the same good results!
