Hey everybody!
I have moved the Supermom blog here.
So come on over and join us! OK?
There is a cool new catalog/magazine (catazine, anyone?)called The Family Mercantile Catalogue that features a variety of businesses within one publication. It’s a great way for small businesses to have a mini catalog without having the complete expense, and for customers from a variety of businesses to learn about other stores that they might not be aware of.
Well, I decided to place a two-page ad in the current catalog, and they just arrived today. I am so excited! The ad looks great, and I love it that I will now have another extra goodie to send along when you order. I just love to have physical catalogs to look at in my “spare time” and I think others do too.
Yay!
I realized today that I should share the linky love with any of you sweet people that are kind enough to have me on your blogroll. Hopefully within the next week or two I will have time to work on adding links to the blogroll.
So. If you link to this here Supermom blog, leave me a comment letting me know, and leave your blog link so I can return the favor. OK? Thanks!
Paula is the winner of the Bee Strong giveaway from the Ultimate Blog Party. Congratulations!
I guess I should have known that most of us wish we had more energy!
My entire shipment of Berry Well and Bee Strong sold out in less than 24 hours. I have already ordered more and will be filling your orders just as soon as I get more in stock!
I am so excited that so many of you are giving these wonderful products a try. I can’t wait to get your feedback about how it works for you!
It’s not every day that we have an opportunity to save a life, but today is one of those days. Jessica is a little girl in need of a liver transplant. An online friend of mine is spearheading a benefit sale to help this family with their medical expenses. Lots of great gifts for you if you participate, and of course a wonderful thing to help with. Check it out here.
Coming Soon!
On September 20 I will be a guest on Heal Yourself Talk Radio!

You can read another good review of Supermom’s No-Lice Hair and Body Spray here.
As participants in my upcoming healthy eating class will learn, although I know a lot about the “shoulds” of healthy eating, I do not always find it doable. Yes, I can do it….but only if I let everything else in my life fall by the wayside.
Changing how we eat is hard. Harder than you’d expect. Habits are what come easy, and healthy habits are a bonus. I try to find healthy things that I can make into habits.
Every now and then I get inspired to try to eat healthier than we have been. Sometimes I become aware (or reminded of) some aspect of healthier eating that I’ve wanted to try, or meant to get back to. I run with my enthusiasm, even though I know there is a good chance that I won’t be able to maintain a completely strict way of eating for very long. I figure even if it’s only for a couple of weeks or months, it’s worth doing if it’s good for me. Right?
So right now we’re trying to shave meat out of our diet. Once upon a time we actually did a whole foods, proper food combining, mostly organic, vegan diet! Yeah baby, it was wild! We went cold turkey with it, and for the most part it went very well. (My oldest child, now 15,still talks about our first meal on The Diet. It was whole wheat bread with homemade hummus and broccoli sprouts. I can still remember his little face–just 6 years old–looking at his lunch, and then asking me, “What is this?” After I told him it was hummus, he replied, “Mucous?!” It’s still a good family joke. And honestly, it was a pretty good lunch that I wouldn’t mind having again.)
But, eventually life got in the way (in the form of a complicated pregnancy, bed rest, moving to a new house, and a premature baby!) and our perfect diet went bye bye. Since then I’ve had my ups and downs with eating healthy. For now, the reason we’re trying to shave meat out of our diets is mainly because of the many hormones, steroids, and junk that goes into most commonly available meat, fish, and poultry in our stores. Secondly, I’ve become increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of eating animals in general. Commercially raised animals are not treated in a proper way while they live, and are not slaughtered humanely either. I don’t think I’ll ever be a hard-core vegetarian, but I do like the idea of not killing living creatures for my food, if possible.
So, anyhow, in the next few days I’ll be sharing some of what is working and not working for us. Also…recipes! Only the ones we actually liked. :) (So, tonite’s “Black Bean Pancakes” will NOT be recommended….anyone have ideas about how to make 2-3 dozen unlovable pancakes go bye-bye??)
Why are you offering this class?
Good question!
One, I think I have a perspective and collection of ideas that everyone can benefit from, but there isn’t anything like it around that I’ve seen. Frankly, you need me!
Also, I have found that people have the greatest success when they have someone teaching and coaching them as they work toward their goals. I have had local people ask me to give them private coaching sessions in their homes, and those have been wonderful for being able to share lots of ideas and letting people Taste and Try the many foods I recommend. However, I have six young children, I homeschool, and my husband likes to see me too :), so I really don’t have much time to go to individual homes to teach people how they can eat healthier. I believe that this class is going to be a huge help to people that need to change how they eat and need a coach to help.
Do I have to be in the USA to take your class?
No! That’s one of the great things about internet-based classes. You can access the class lessons from anywhere in the world. As long as you can read and respond in English, this class will work for you.
What time do I have to be available for this class?
Anytime that works for you! Each class will come to you in an email. You can read through your lesson at any time that’s convenient for you. You can even do several lessons in one day and then not do any for several days. Whatever works for you!
Do I have to buy any books or supplies for this class?
You do not need to purchase any books for this class, although sometimes I will mention or recommend books that you can choose to get from the library or purchase.
As far as supplies go, the only items you’ll need are some food ingredients for the Taste and Try assignments. I try to make the majority of my suggestions things that most people can make work with just a regular grocery store. (I know that many of us don’t have health food stores nearby, and frankly, they can be kind of overwhelming.) There are some food items that I recommend that are not going to be found in most grocery stores. My goal is to make those available through Supermom’s Health and Wellness. Obviously, some items (such as frozen items, baked goods, produce, meats) aren’t things I can ship to you through the mail, so it’ll be up to you to track down resources for these items in your own area. (although I will have ideas to help you start your search)
I recommend that you plan to spend about $25 per month on items from Supermom’s Health and Wellness (or your local health food store, if that works better for you). This amount will vary depending on your personal goals, so it’s not written in stone. I do provide a 10% discount on all purchases made by current students.
