If I could manage to do all the “shoulds” about healthy eating that I know about, that would be awesome! But, know what? Sometimes life gets in the way. Not all of us can spend twice as much money for our groceries. Not all of us live close to a health food store.
Not all of us have the time or interest in learning how to make a whole different type of foods.
Not all of us can spend hours every day making the perfect food.
Not all of us have a husband or kids that want to eat what others tell us they “should.”
There have been times in my life when I was able to feed my family what I felt was really ideal, and other times when it was impossible to keep up on eating super-healthy. Sometimes I felt discouraged and burdened because I was not able to be as perfectly healthy as I wanted to be.
Eventually I was able to ditch all that guilt when I realized how many healthy things had become part of everyday life. I realized that the things that were simply part of our routine, that we enjoyed eating, that we could get easily from the regular grocery store, were the things we could always manage day-in and day-out.
And I knew that other people needed those kind of solutions for their own lives!
I know that there are lots of people that want to eat healthier, but who feel defeated before they even get started, because they know they aren’t going to be able to “do it all right” according to whatever book or system they would read.
Guess what–healthier eating isn’t an All-Or-Nothing proposition. We can ALL eat healthiER than we are now. Some people would tell you that if you don’t change everything that nothing counts. I say hogwash!
